Decomposing Applications for Deployability and Scalability
Today, there are several trends that are forcing application architectures to evolve. Users expect a rich, interactive and dynamic user experience on a wide variety of clients including mobile devices. Applications must be highly scalable, highly available and run on cloud environments. Organizations often want to frequently roll out updates, even multiple times a day. Consequently, it’s no longer adequate to develop simple, monolithic web applications that serve up HTML to desktop browsers. In this talk we describe the limitations of a monolithic architecture. You will learn how to use the scale cube to decompose your application into a set of narrowly focused, independently deployable back-end services and an HTML 5 client. We will also discuss the role of technologies such as NodeJS and AMQP brokers. You will learn how a modern PaaS such as Cloud Foundry simplifies the development and deployment of this style of application.

Intalio is the leading application platform vendor that enables businesses to design, deploy, run and evolve their business applications with the agility that modern industry competition requires. In this 45 minute segment Intalio will focus on discussing and demonstrating the capabilities that businesses require in order to construct modern applications that fit with an agile model, are natively ready to support multiple devices, can scale on any cloud whether public, private or behind the firewall and which can be created by analysts and designers in addition to developers. Intalio Create is a powerful new platform that enables analysts, designers and developers to create such applications. Intalio Create incorporates Cloud Foundry as its base infrastructure for storage and scalability and this tight linkage will be explored as part of the presentation. Intalio|Create also leverage Spring Integration to enable collaboration and integration with external application, social media and more. This will also be discussed.
